How Can We Help You Today?

Find fast answers on milestone escrow protection, live GPS tracking, tutor background audits, and enrollment billing.

How does Kalene Milestone Escrow protect my money? ▾
When you enroll in a course, your payment is placed into an isolated escrow trust vault held by Kalene. The tutor is NOT paid upfront. Funds are divided into sequential milestone blocks (typically 25% each). A milestone is only released to the instructor after you review and approve the lesson block.
What happens if a tutor misses a lesson or cancels? ▾
Because payments are held in escrow, you never lose your money. If an instructor cancels or fails to arrive, the uncompleted session is credited back immediately or rescheduled with no penalty. You can also request a full refund of any uncompleted milestone blocks directly to your Airtel Money, MTN MoMo, or bank account.
How does the 24-hour dispute review window work? ▾
After a tutor marks a milestone completed and submits lesson notes, guardians have a 24-hour review window. You can click "Approve & Release Funds" immediately, or click "Open Dispute" if the lesson was substandard or shortened. During a dispute, funds remain frozen while a Kalene academic supervisor reviews attendance logs.
What Zambian payment methods are accepted? ▾
Kalene supports direct Mobile Money via Airtel Money, MTN Mobile Money, Zamtel Kwacha, as well as Visa, Mastercard, and direct electronic bank transfer (EFT) in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW).
How does live GPS telemetry work during home visits? ▾
When an instructor conducts an in-home tutorial, both the tutor app and student portal register coordinate check-in. The system validates that the tutor is physically within 25 meters of the registered residence. Guardians receive instant SMS/WhatsApp alerts upon check-in and checkout, along with active session timers.
What background audits are required for educators? ▾
Every tutor on Kalene must pass a 3-step audit: (1) Zambia Police CID criminal record screening, (2) National Identity biometric verification, and (3) Academic degree verification with UNZA, CBU, TEVETA, or relevant examination councils.
How does the emergency SOS panic beacon work? ▾
Inside both student and parent mobile portals is an emergency SOS button. Tapping it immediately alerts our 24/7 security dispatch team, sends GPS coordinates to designated emergency contacts, and activates an immediate audio protocol check.
How do I apply to become an accredited tutor? ▾
Visit the Tutor Registration page. Create your account, choose your academic or skill specialty, set your hourly rate, and upload your qualification certificates and Police Clearance report. Applications are reviewed within 48 business hours.
When and how do tutors withdraw their earnings? ▾
As soon as a milestone is signed off by the parent, funds clear into your withdrawable wallet. You can withdraw instantly to your Airtel Money or MTN MoMo wallet with zero holding delay, or schedule automated weekly bank disbursements.
Can I drop my child off at a Kalene Tuition Center? ▾
Yes! All 6 Kalene tuition campuses (Woodlands, Rhodes Park, Roma, Kitwe, Ndola, and Livingstone) feature biometric student entry/exit logging. Parents receive automated SMS arrival alerts. Certified center supervisors and security guards oversee all shared study halls.
